Le Massif

Le Massif is the 2004 Olympic Sweater from Dale of Norway...

requested by my big assistant...

I am expecting a medal on completion.

Started on 1st January, the first bit was easy...

but now it requires total concentration!

Also in progress are two quilts and a Shetland lace sweater.

The Handmade Loaf

Light rye flatbread from Dan Lepard's 'The Handmade Loaf', from the Dry Breeads of Winter section.
Excellent, kept some as the complete soft flatbread and as recommended split a few when nearly baked and popped back in the oven to crisp up.  My cracker expert loves them.

The Dunston Buzzard

We see this little fella most mornings on the ride to school...

and often on the way home.

Our bikes go in the hedge and we just watch.

Museum of Childhood

"Industry is the parent of every excellence.
The finest talents would be lost in obscurity if they were not called forth by study and cultivation."
Mary Grave 1851

On our last trip to the big smoke we went to the Museum of Childhood in Bethnall Green, no idea why we haven't been before, we thoroughly enjoyed it.  I'm with Mary Grave, foolishly I didn't note her age.

Liberty Lawn

At last Betsy's Christmas quilt top is complete...

the Liberty Lawn is a dream to work with...

superfine like the girl!

Lost in Lace

Popped in to Birmingham to see 'Lost in Lace' at the Gas Hall.

Some of us also went to see 'Room on the Broom'.

The Liberty quilt is coming along slowly.

Quilting Fever

After the Christmas decorations were banished everything looked so dull.

Quilt No.1 is basted and about a quarter quilted - by hand.

The reverse is some Paul Smith shirting.
