Improvise

The problem with being six and riding your bike to school on bitterly cold mornings is that your hands get cold.  Gloves big enough to keep hands warm make it difficult to use the brakes.  The solution is felted Shetland wool gloves combined with the sleeves off Mummy's favourite sheepskin coat - make that gillet - or as we like to call them bar-cosies.
