Retro Duffle Bag

I bought this fabric from the Textile Society Fair a couple of weeks ago, it is from a woven French tablecloth.  It attracted me because it's like my favourite Welsh Tapestry.

I thought it would be perfect for a duffle bag that you could stuff full for the beach, it can be thrown in the washer and you have the pleasure of seeing the reverse weave on the inside.

A French blanket from the same lady, it's Orla before there was an Orla.
Now residing in Texas!

A gorgeous bit of embroidery I found last week, the back is as neat as the front.

All of the items I am listing are in my etsy shop, click on the didyoumakeityourself link, or if you are in the area I will be attending a top notch farmers market which does occasional crafts a week on Saturday.

Pin Cushion Frenzy

20 pin cushions all packed up to go,
the tiny one above is for me.

The last of the zipped pouches, Welsh Tweed with a Tilda lining.

Harris Tweed & Paul Smith

Nearly at the end of the pouchathon.

Harris Tweed is just in a different class.

Lined with Paul Smith shirting that has been patiently waiting in the stash for about 8 years.

Candy Striped Lambswool

Another one bites the dust,
scarf that is.

Georgously scrummy felted lambswool,

with a Tilda lining.

Might be addicted.

Wool is Ace

I can never resist a dingy old anything at all if it's made of wool.
I have been hoarding plaid scarves and with life support - a good soak, some fresh air and a press - this is what they can become.

Wool is the best fibre in the world,
do you worst and it still performs better than some crappy old bit of man-made rubbish.

I usually run 6 - 11 miles and my very hi-tech cold weather running gear is a second hand £4 navy blue lambswool mans jumper and a pair of Shetland Fair Isle gloves, nothing better.

One day people will come around to the obvious but until then I am happy to rescue abandoned wool.
In my etsy shop now, shortly to be joined by siblings.

Cow Hide?

Didn't find anything at my local Vintage Fair
but did get a bright green full cow hide at the bankrupt store.
Pictured draped over a there seater sofa, the hole is for the head.

The stitches of one of my excellent year two students,
I can't get them to show up well enough but they are as neat as a sewing machine.

Needlepoint Kitsch

I just love this needlepoint,

I found it unloved and resurrected it.

I am so glad it's going to have a new life
because someone put many many hours in to it.

I put in a few more,

you've got to love a gusset

and a reinforced bottom!

Bunny Love

It was okay at first, there was just this little fella,

but then the siblings arrived...

and the cousins...

and the uncles...

and the aunties...

apparently Easter is around the corner and we all need to get busy.
Well I think I've done my bit, you can help out over at etsy if you want to join in.

Linen Wildflowers

Tasmanian Wildflowers.
Made from a hand printed piece of linen from 70/80's?

You can't beat a good piece of woven linen.

The woven braid handles came from the Textile Society Fair at the weekend,
 wish I'd bought more.

Still with the original, 'Hand printed', label.

Over on etsy.

Vintage French Fabric and 1D Love

I took a trip to the Textile Society's Fair last Sunday and bought lots of goodies including a vintage sheep mask?  The above blanket is French and a bit Orla, obviously before Orla!

Love this fabric, think it might grow up to be a bag.

This one reminded me of my favourite textile in the whole world, Welsh Tapestry, although it's French, woven so as you would expect everything is in reverse.  I am thinking duffle bag.

Look what Miss Belle found in a packet on 1D Love Hearts.
I do heart Louis, but the big thirteen year old who is eating me out of house and home not the little fella from 1D.
