Stoke Street Pianos

When I was about Betsy's age I used to walk through this park every day to school.   I hadn't been back for thirty years until recently and the only thing that I could remember was the band stand.  We found a brilliant piano with lots of people trying it out.  Take a look at the clips from 2014,  just brilliant.  Stoke-on-Trent has the best, warmest, kindest, most friendly people in the world but it's run by idiots.

Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is an artwork by artist Luke Jerram. More than 1300 pianos have now been installed in 45 cities across the globe, from Paris to Santiago de Chile, bearing the simple invitation Play Me, I’m Yours. The project has already reached more than six million people worldwide.
Appetite presented Play Me, I’m Yours from 1-31 August 2014. 16 street pianos, decorated by local artists and community groups, were located in parks, squares, hospitals, community centres and other public spaces in Stoke-on-Trent for anyone to play and enjoy.  At the end of the project the pianos were donated to local charities and community groups.
