W.I. Workshop & Audrey Hepburn All In One Day!

I was lucky enough to teach a workshop this morning for the lovely ladies of Barlaston Heron's W.I.

Some bunnies had to leave before the photo-call, but the fellas were happy to pose.

For Mothering Sunday my request was a whole day sewing with no meals to cook etc.  I made a Balenciaga inspired jacket with some unusually soft Welsh Tapestry - YAY!

There is a very clever pleat at the shoulder seam creating a balloon effect - doesn't show up on the model very well - it's very roomy at the back but not massive as it sucks back in at the hem.

The temptation to play around with the weave was just too great,
this is why I love Welsh Tapestry.

I'd had this binding in my stash for about 10 years just waiting for the right project.

Burda Vintage Autumn/Winter 2014, I was definitely channelling Audrey today!

Crazy Horses

I find it very easy to start a new project but a struggle to complete, these two are now ticked off the list.  I got the horse fabric in Brooklyn at Christmas and the green is my favourite Liberty.

Women At Work and Scientific Seamstress

It's been a very dull and dusty week, on Friday I had some super dooper new lights in my studio, which meant that I had to spruce it up a bit - it is the only room in the house I have never decorated.
I now realise that this was because there was just so much STUFF in it, I'm still not straight.

I've re-jigged my notice boards which I am absolutely loving, I made the originals just before Louis was born so that's about 15 years ago.  I must have been out of my mind to cut this blanket up for padding, the funny thing is I don't remember the blanket at all,
it must have been pregnancy hormones!

Miss Belle did the 6 hour danceathon on Sunday,
she did surprisingly well for a nine year old
and she has  raised £95 so far.

She was rewarded with my latest make, a Bunny and Toadstool dress for Easter.
I got the pattern from the Scientific Seamstress on Etsy, downloading sewing patterns is a revelation.
