Hand Spun
I am lucky enough to know many good spinners,
they are excellent people for a knitter to know.
I knit this up from some hand spun from my friend Chris. I had a few skeins and no idea of a pattern but a rough idea of what I wanted. I just worked out my gauge and then with a provisional cast-on did a couple of rectangles - the back longer than the front - sewed them up, added a few rows to bring the neck line together and then picked up the provisional cast-on and knit down for half a dozen rows. at the bottom. Very basic but just what I was aiming for and of course being from the hands of a very clever spinner it is extremely light for the amount of warmth it traps.

Going For Gold
I couldn't resist this print.
In Copenhagen at Christmas I made my people walk miles to a good fabric shop - I.T.A Textiles - they were rewarded with a comfy sofa while I managed to find some Chanel wool.
I have been desperate to cut into this for a Lotta Jansdotter Pilvi of course.
This time I think I'll leave it unlined so that the two sides of the weave can be admired.
Now I just have to go somewhere nice to wear it, or not!

Monster Totes
I had a trip to the Textile Society Fair a few weeks ago and took only one bag
- my prototype - I was thinking that when it was full I would be done.
My plan worked perfectly and when I weighed in it was a whopping 14.5kg,
I did have to stop a few times on my way back to my car for a breather!
Now over on Etsy.
Blockbusters, velvet and linen, also on Etsy.

A Little Bespokery
Got to get back to some pinny making this week.
This tiny aubergine brushed cotton drill has left for its new home already.

Three Bags Full
A little bit of massive tote making has been happening lately.
Mine is the grey pure heavy linen and vintage barkcloth.
A few of the others have gone off today to Two Doors Studio.
