Vintage French Linen Pinafore

It's been a very cold and dark January so far
and I've been very busy in the studio with some gorgeous vintage french linen I found on my travels.

Lots of horses and fine ladies.

Also a fair bit of denim added to my shop.

At last photos of the french brocade jacket on.

It's Been A While.

We went to Copenhagen for Christmas, lots of eating, walking, galleries and of course a bit of fabric shopping.  I am modelling my new hap which I began after seeing a spectacular one at Shetland Wool week knit by the fabulous Liz - I just want to make whatever she's making.  The pattern is Dusk by Grace Anna Farrow knit in Jamieson's Ultra, the perfect thing for a Danish Christmas.

For the trip I also finished the train knitting I've had on the needles for a while, a sparkly hand dyed rainbow from Jillian at Mothy and the Squid.

I dragged everyone along to see The Danish Chair at the Design Museum.

Some people got bored and thought there were far too many chairs.

Miss Betsy Belle with Hans Anderson, aged very nearly 11 and very nearly 4 below.

Interestingly her Hans Anderson Fairytales is over a hundred years old and the author is referred to only as Hans Anderson, no sign of Christian.  Also note she's still wearing the hat that I made her for nursery when she was two, plenty more years left in it I should think!

Back at home we popped to London for her birthday to see Wicked, which was brilliant of course although we didn't know that we had with us the only person on earth not to have seen/read the Wizard of Oz.  Before the fun we had to do a little bit of work related  leather shopping.  No photo but in Copenhagen we found a very good skin shop Skindhuset, not for the faint hearted, it has everything from waxed thread to crocodile skins.
