Valentine Roses

I've been busy with the vintage barkcloth this week.  This one is just glorious, vat dyed, made in England, thick cotton barkcloth.  I wash all of my vintage fabrics in the washing machine and the really old vat dyed stuff is just the best, made to last.

I've got just enough to make one up for myself.  The greys, mustards and teals are just my thing.

This one is a French barkcloth, a little longer than my usual.

Photo bombed by Tinkerbell.

The Happy Lion is a lovely childrens story and he's looking pretty contented on this vintage wool waistcoat.  All hand embroidered.

I love the back.

A lot of red stuff has been coming through my studio this week.  I cut out the middle man and got myself a valentine gift from Red Houss Shetland.   I visited during Shetland Wool Week last year and will be returning,  Mike does fabulous silver with a little bit of Fair Isle.

Percy and Queenie have been keeping me company while I work.
