Joyous Blooms and Stripes
My 'Vintage Textiles' items are all old but unused fabrics. When I found this fabric I immediately thought 80's Dallas and Southfork with all the big yellow striped awnings. It's actually 1992 so it's just been hanging around for 31 years to be used. I've left selvedges intact which is why its a whopper width and it reads "Stephany" BIGGIE BEST 100% Cotton 1992.
This skirt has some big pleats and is then gathered on to a contrast elasticated waistband making the waist a little less poofy than with just gathers. The heavy cotton is a beauty with wide pale yellow and white stripes, big florals and trailing ribbons. All my skirts have generous inseam pockets because pockets are essential!
I finish the elasticated waist to your size, just let me know your actual waist size in the comments box. If you prefer you can finish to fit at home.
Because I'm working with salvaged textiles I don't offer any standard measurements, lengths and widths will vary according to how much fabric I have and of course pattern matching.
Can fit up to a 52" hip
Hem width laid flat 56"
Everything in my shop is made by me in my very messy studio in Staffordshire and all from secondhand fabrics in good natural fibres, cotton, linen, silk and wool.
