About Me

Maker, hand spinner, knitter, seamstress, feltmaker, patchworker and dabble in stone carving weekly,  it's all about the tools.   My oldest project to date was from an 18th century linen sheet and antique textiles don't half dye well.  I appreciate proper natural fibres above all others, this probably comes from hand spinning and my adventures in Shetland.   I have an Art History degree, City & Guilds in: Feltmaking;  Patchwork & Quilting; Embroidery and finally a Masters Degree in Textiles where I travelled on my own to India to study handmade textiles.    Everything in my shop is made from secondhand fabric because there is enough stuff in the world already and generally old textiles are so much better quality but I'm not evangelical about it, we all like beautiful new things.
