Faith & Confidence Tote Bag

A roomy tote bag made from a vintage woven wall hanging featuring a version of Fragonard's, The Swing. She's having so much fun she's kicked off her shoe and it's flying through the air. Actually there is no second shoe so I painted one in because I couldn't have her hobbling home in shame after having a wild time. The scene continues in the back with a finely dressed young lady looking out. I painted in some details and gave our lady a whopper velvet bow with a gold coloured button which reads, FIDE ET FIDUCI, translating to faith and confidence.

The tote is unlined so that you can see the reverse of the tapestry on the inside, box base and sturdy handles.
